CAN A WOMAN PASTOR A CHURCH?
This message is not to go against some Churches that already have women Pastors but we want to know the Biblical truth.
In the ministry of Jesus Christ, there were many women who were His disciples and went about with Him, but He never appointed them as Apostles.
Does this mean a woman cannot work in the house of God? No, a woman can work in the house of God but God does not permit that the authority of the Church of God be placed in the hands of a woman as either a Pastor or an Apostle.
1 Timothy 2:12-14 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp AUTHORITY over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."
Position of Authority was always committed into the hands of men by the Apostles.
Acts 6:3a Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you SEVEN MEN of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost...
Apostle Paul gave reason why a woman must not have authority over the Church but a man. The reason is because women easily fall for the deception of Satan (worldly vanities). Adam was not deceived when he ate the forbidden fruit. He quite knew he was eating a poison but he didn't want Eve to suffer alone. Problem entered the world because Adam handed his leadership role into the hands of Eve.
But we have women like Miriam, Deborah, and Huldah who were Prophetess? Yes, God gives prophetic gift to everyone, either male or female. A Prophet is a person who conveys divine message from God to the people. A Pastor on the other hand is a SHEPHERD who leads, feeds, and oversees the Church of God.
A woman can be called by God as an Evangelist or Prophetess, and their work is to go outside the church and win souls to the church,but the PASTORING of a Church is committed into the hands of GODLY MEN ONLY.
Pastoral office in the New Testament can be likened with the Priesthood office of the old testament. Women were never ordained as priestess even in the old testament.
God created Eve as a HELPER while Adam as the Head.
